Neil Stanbury clearly explains why angle-based bike fitting isn’t necessary. We fully support this philosophy because every rider is unique. We fit individuals, not averages.

THE BIKE FIT PROCESS

  • It all begins with an interview. I want to learn about your goals and any discomfort you experience on the bike. By getting to know you, I can better understand what you need from the bike fit. I see bike fitting as a collaboration between you, the rider, and me, the fitter.

  • Do you have any physical limitations that affect how you ride? I want to understand them. I assess your feet, stance, muscle asymmetries, flexibility, and more to get a complete picture. This helps us determine how your body naturally moves on the bike.

  • All your current bike measurements will be transferred to the fitting jig*, allowing me to see your exact riding posture. This serves as your baseline. Observing you in your current position provides valuable insights and forms the starting point for your bike fit.

  • Then you start riding on the fit bike. Adjustments will be made by me while you are moving: making the fit 100% dynamic. Carefully and precisely - working together - we put all the bike contact points in the best place to suit your individual needs. We will find the position for you that rides the easiest, the most efficient and gives you maximum performance.

  • This is where your feet take center stage. We begin by finding the right arch support and checking if additional wedges under the forefoot or heel are needed for better stability. If necessary, we also correct leg length differences. This important step is often overlooked in bike fitting but helps you connect more symmetrically with the bike, improving both comfort and performance. The goal is to keep you riding as long and efficiently as possible.

  • Now that your position is fully tailored to your needs, I will transfer these measurements to your bike, ensuring you ride in your optimal setup. Your bike is now adjusted for maximum comfort and performance. Some complex adjustments may require additional work in the workshop.

  • After the fitting, you will receive a report with all relevant measurements. These can be useful for future adjustments or bike setups.
